Verse Counts that are Multiples of 10

Nassir H. Sabah

There are 13 chapters of the Quran with verse counts that are multi0le of 10, as shown in the Table below. Note that 13 is the 6th prime number, where 6 is the first perfect number.

The total of the chapter numbers is 688 = 16×43, where the digit sums of each of the two factors 16 and 43 is the mystical number 7(1). The total verse counts of the 13 chapters is 810 = 10×81, a multiple of 10. The prime-counting function of 81, π(81) = 22, that is, there are 22 prime numbers less than or equal to 81, where 22 = 2×11 and 11 is a special number that symbolizes the Oneness of Allāh. π(810) = 140 = 2×7×10, which is a multiple of 10 and of mystical 7.

The 6 entries in the table below in parentheses are prime-numbered (2, 3, 5, 7, 11, and 13). The total of their chapter numbers 290 = 10×29 is a multiple of 10 and the digit sum of 29 is 11. π(29) = 10 and π(290) = 62 = 2×31, where π(31) = 11. The corresponding verse counts of the 6 chapters is 350 = 5×7×10, which is a multiple of 10 as well as 7.
