Perfect Squares in the Quran

Nassir H. Sabah

Column (1) in the Table below lists chapter numbers of the Quran that are perfect squares, whereas Column (2) lists the corresponding verse counts in each of these chapters. The sum of the 10 verse counts is 676 = 26×26, a perfect square, where 26 + 10 = 36 = 6×6 and 26 – 10 = 16 = 4×4, are both perfect squares. The digit sum of 676 is the mystical number 19(1).

Column (3) lists the even verse counts of Column (2). These are 4 in number, where 4 = 2×2, is a perfect square, and their sum is 340. Column (4) lists the odd verse counts of Column (2). These are 6 in number. When concatenated with 4 gives the resulting number 64 = 8×8, is a perfect square. The sum of the odd entries in Column (4) is 336, where 340336 = 4 = 2×2, is a perfect square. Moreover, (340×340) – (336×336) = 115,600 – 112,896 = 2704 = 52×52, is a perfect square.

The digit sums of the 6 entries in Column (3) add to 7 + 12 + 14 + 11 +11 +11 = 66, and the 4 entries in Column (4) add to 14 + 11 + 9 + 9 = 43. The number 43 is a prime number whose order in the list of prime numbers is 14 (7×2) and whose digit sum is also the mystical number 7(1). The number 66 is the product of the perfect number 6 and the special number 11(1),(2).

Column (5) lists the digit sums of the verse counts in Column (2). The total of these digit sums is 100 = 10×10, a perfect square.

Column (6) lists the verse counts in parentheses in Column (2), which are in rows number 2, 3, 4, and 7, corresponding to the first 4 = 2×2 primary numbers ending with the mystical number 7(1). The sum of the verse counts of these 4 entries is 400 = 20×20, a perfect square. Column (7) list the digit sums of these 4 entries, which total 49 = 7×7, a perfect square. The sum of the totals of: (i) the verse counts in Column (2), (ii) their corresponding digit sums in Column (3), (iii) the verse counts of the prime-numbered rows in Column (6), and (iv) their corresponding digit sums in Column (7), is: 676 + 100 + 400 + 49 = 1225 = 35×35, a perfect square.

Can all this be coincidental?
